Hi @buttecreek
Hi and welcome to the forums, I hope you find support and connection here. Thank you for sharing so honestly.
Feeling stuck and directionless, especially while living with mental health issues, can be incredibly heavy and disorienting. I just want to acknowledge how hard that place can be, you are not alone in it.
When I've felt like that, one of the most helpful things has been giving myself permission not to have everything figured out. Sometimes the pressure to "fix It' or "have it all figured out" can add even more weight. So instead, I try to focus on the smallest next step, something that feels manageable and kind to myself, even if it's just making my bed, writing down how I feel or sitting outside in the fresh air.
I find its helpful to shift my mood by connecting with someone I trust, being with my animals, which is something that brings me joy, and can help loosen the feeling of being stuck, even if just a little.
There's no one size fits all answer and I know how stressful it can be when we feel we need to have all the answers and our lives mapped out. But you reaching out like this is already a powerful step. It means part of you isn't giving up and that part deserves care, support and compassion.
I have changed direction several times in my life and sometimes feel like I still don't know what I'm doing. But I think that's the journey of life, I'm not the same person I was when I was younger, my interests have changed and that's ok.
I reflect on times when I have felt stuck and stagnant in my life. At times like these I decided to challenge myself. I retrained and studied something new, I found a new hobby, I moved interstate, I even cut all my hair off for charity... that shook things up.
I think doing something that ignites your passion, fulfills and challenges you is good place to start and hopefully the inspiration and direction follows.
Be kind to yourself and let your passion guide you.
