i hear ya and it's a tough one.

I have a bipolar diagnosis and for the last couple years been taking a non pbs medication dunno if we can name them on here but yeh I have to pay more and it's not on PBS for bipolar 

it's an anti epileptic medication that has mood stabilising effects.

if you are concerned about this try get an appointment with your regular GP as they know why you are on it better than a rando looking at it going huh?

and for the birds awwww man I love the birds too 

you can make them a little bird house

or buy one 

or better yeh a little bird feeder even a plate on a bush, barrel, branch or stump where that tree was

spribkle some bird seed and watch them come and let them know it can still be a place for them to go
