Cyclone Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

When a natural disaster like severe weather is on the horizon, it’s completely natural to feel uneasy. While prepping your home physically and keeping updated on emergency advice is important, don’t forget to prepare emotionally too.

By taking a moment to check in on your mental and physical health, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the times ahead. Everyone reacts to stress differently, and that’s okay. It’s about finding what works for you.

☎️ If you’re in immediate danger, please call 000 or head to your nearest hospital.

Take care and stay safe out there, everyone  💚

Re: Cyclone Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

Thanks @tyme  I think I’m prepared as best I can be. The map says my driveway will flood well I can live with that.

Failing all else I have wine, cheese and crackers!

Re: Cycle Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

You're amazing with your positive outlook @Eve7

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hope it's only your driveway, hun...

As for the cheese, wine and crackers? Why not? Anyway, don't tell yourself you can only have these when there's a cyclone!

Hugs to you. You have the community supporting you and cheering you on.

Stay safe @Eve7

Re: Cyclone Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

Thank you @RachSANECEO  I am as prepared as I can be but I will be worried if I lose power for any length of time.

Re: Cycle Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

@Eve7 it's worth having a few power banks in case you're phone does run out of battery to be able to plug it in if there is an emergency. Also a battery powered radio because if all else fails the radio will be able to keep you updated on any necessary warnings or updates. Wet frozen face washers are great as ice packs for perishables too (like that cheese to go with the wine).

Please stay safe!

Re: Cyclone Alfred: Supporting those in QLD and NSW

I had a roof bloke here about a week ago, took 6 months right, only because there was a small mould circle in the ceiling, I had chivoces do nothing, as the pitch of the roof and the magifent breeze,  will be nothing, or you can spend 10 thousand for a new roof, then he said 1200 hundred to fix the mould in ceiling part so I say yeah lock it in, I the get a call yesterday saying you can’t be in your house when the cyclone hits, find alternative arrangements ……
