Something’s not right

Oscillation between two mind sets

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Hi @amber22, I’m feeling better after the shower. I also got my hair cut a bit shorter, it was drying out so badly, couldn’t fix it any other way.

Flashbacks are weird. Like there was no obvious trigger, yet my body didn’t feel right. I don’t even know why.

How are you?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

I'm glad you feel better after a shower @creative_writer That's great that you got your hair cut!

I definitely understand, I hope that you have some helpful ways to cope with the flashbacks when they arise. Is there something that helps you when this happens?

I'm going well, thank you, very happy that it's nearly the weekend!

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@Amber, relaxation and grounding techniques can help. I think a shower was a good idea because I was more present and distracted. The more I focus on the body flashback, the worse it gets.

I think I’m coming down with something, my throat was sore the other day, now my jaw hurts when I eat. I’ll probably need my cold and flu tea today.

Yes, It is almost the weekend. I don’t really get a break, too much uni stuff. Are you doing much over the weekend?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Those sound like some great ideas @creative_writer A shower is a really nice way to bring yourself back into the present, especially a cold one!

Oh no, I'm so sorry that you're coming down with something. Maybe have some hot tea to soothe your throat if you can.

I am not up to much this weekend, but I am really glad that I get some time to relax after a very busy week!

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@amber22, being sick might explain why migraines have been worse lately. I seem to go into a dump when sick. I wasn’t sure whether it was going to make it through the day yesterday at uni.

I hope you get some time to rest up. Busy weeks can tire you out 💖

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Does anyone else wake up feeling paralysed by what they do not want to remember. I'm also growing very tired of pretending that I'm okay and not falling apart

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Is anyone here? I think I'm losing the plot and I don't even care because why should I?

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Hey @creative_writer, what is going on for you? Here with you today! RiverSeal

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

@RiverSeal, when emotions kick in, reason leaves. I know my psych told me to reach out for support if things got really bad but I don't want to. I don't want anyone to talk me out of this. I'm in bed right now, so I'm safe

Re: Oscillation between two mind sets

Thank you for letting me know that you are safe @creative_writer.

Sometimes it can be hard to reach out when we feel overwhelmed by our feelings and thoughts. Do you have a safety plan with other things you can do when you feel like this? I'm really grateful you are staying connected on the Forums with the community. Crisis support lines may be the best place to reach out for support if you need a little extra support today though.
