I’m dealing with really bad anxiety from the thought of having cancer…I’m 23 years old and freaking out that I’m going to die…I possibly have OCD…
currently awaiting results from a doctor and I’m going to do further testing but I feel so scared and lost even called into work sick today because I feel like my body keeps freezing up…

hey @Neko welcome!
i can hear how scary this is for you. i had a friend recently go through a similar experience of fearing she was going to die, and i know that it's hard when the "what if" questions start spiralling out of control. if you're one of those people who google their symptoms to try get answers - i'd say it's best to avoid that as it only makes the anxiety worse, especially when some of the content is inaccurate.
are there any grounding techniques that usually help with calming your anxiety? have you talked to a professional about those thoughts?
one of my fav quotes around anxiety is "Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes always today peace". when i'm experiencing a lot of anxiety, i sometimes repeat that quote like a mantra. worrying/anxiety won't change the test results or speed up the results. i know that even with that said, it's not easy to 'switch off' that anxiety. and it's so valid to be worried- waiting for answers from the docs is scary! but it's also okay, you can take this one step at a time. please take care, take some deep breaths if you haven't already, and know that we're here for you. 💙
