Re: Sunday Night Chat

Oh that's great news @Blackcloud I'm so glad you got up the courage to go, sounds like it was definitely worth it.

May I ask, what you all did?

Re: Sunday Night Chat

I'm sorry to hear about your sad news @Dreamy - I hope you are as oky as you can be. Have you been using your colouring. It's great you picked up some fidget things

I have been using my fidget spinner the last few days.

I was reading something (not on forums) and it set of a couple of flashbacks, so I've been doing a bit of thinking, trying to work out a path forward overall in my life, so that my past does not rule my current life

Re: Sunday Night Chat

@Till23 well basically we had to do a couple of slow walks altogether as a group around the forest, and we also did a couple of activities that involved using our 5 different senses (touch, smell, hear, see, i forgot what the last one is) that involves whatever is surrounding us in nature. It was a pretty good exercise, and I really liked how we're not required to use our devices during this trip because without using technology whilst you're doing this exercise, you can actually tune yourself into nature and its surroundings and pay your attention to those. 😊

Re: Sunday Night Chat

@Blackcloud - taste is the fifth one.

Yes I do this what I call connecting to nature. Although I have my phone on me, I don't interact with it unless I want to take a photo to remember something.

I find it very relaxing and helpful for MH and physical health

Re: Sunday Night Chat

Thanks @Till23, it's no secret that I'm not doing ok at the moment but I'm somehow finding a way to get through.

The fidget things are great and I've been finding it helpful when having flashbacks myself to have something in my hands to try and keep myself in the present moment.

Sorry to hear that it's set off some flashbacks for yourself. You know I'm always here if you want/ need to chat about anything. Trying to find a path forward is tricky but you are strong and you can do this. Remember our past does not define who we are and who we can be ♥️

Re: Sunday Night Chat

oh by the way @Dreamy @Till23 I've finally completed my draft (or final piece?) for my image analysis assessment. To be honest, looking at the rubric, I'm not confident that I'll be able to get anywhere above 60%, but if I can get at least 50% as that's the minimum percentage to get a pass, then I would really appreciate it. 🙏🏻

Re: Sunday Night Chat

@Blackcloud well done for getting it finished. I'm sure you have done your best and I hope you get good marks for it 😊

Re: Sunday Night Chat

@Till23

Kind of over the rain heat and wind.

Most of all the rain.

We are in one of the regions impacted by flooding. Our house is safe but the constant wet is a drain. Bringing back memories of floods a few years back that while did not personally impact us were devistating for the community. (This round is nowhere near as bad... Yet... Not sure if the rain persists though).

We spent some time in impacted areas back then helping with cleanup. Not sure I could do that again.

Re: Sunday Night Chat

@Till23 aaa yes taste, that's it!! So the 'taste' part was the last activity of the forest therapy we did, and with that, we had to get together to have a sip of one of the teas that had the exact smell of one of the flowers that we smelt today. Not a fan of the taste of it though haha.

Yes, forest therapy or pretty much anything related to nature is beneficial for our mental and physical health.

I personally don't find that seeking psychological/counselling therapy to be THAT beneficial for me for a lot of reasons based from my past and current experiences with seeing all different types of psychologists and counsellors over the years.
