Interesting to note you proactively monitor the forums to identify individuals with higher support needs - what do you do once you’ve identified those individuals? You don’t have funding to provide additional services to those individuals, that aren’t available to the general googling public… there’s no point identifying those who would benefit from long term psychodynamic psychotherapy if you can’t offer it! Or do you have a contact for the training registrar psychiatrists in the College, who do offer weekly therapy for a year, for free? That would be a useful service, if you did offer it.
Let alone identifying those homeless with housing needs, or those needing a jobectomy… how many social workers do you have available, and housing units?
And I note you don’t provide support for people with serious psychiatric illnesses, you’re ostensibly a positive psychology movement that doesn’t seem to notice that the community has turned “mental health” into a dirty word that really means mental sickness, nowadays health means illness… you’d do well in Trumpland with your ability to make words mean the opposite of what they literally mean.

I think it's a cool concept like an online drop in forum, nothing available at the moment so their grants could be determined by referrals to run this site, well done.

@AuntJobiska you said “you’re ostensibly a positive psychology movement that doesn’t seem to notice that the community has turned “mental health” into a dirty word that really means mental sickness, nowadays health means illness… you’d do well in Trumpland with your ability to make words mean the opposite of what they literally mean.”
Why are you here in SANE’s Forumland?

I'm with you @Glisten
The power of being heard and understood in these circumstances is of great importance in the mental health sphere and the fact that we've got funding, we've got employees, we've got so many members, it says something to the work that sane is doing and the impact it is having.
Just listening is increasing self esteem, increasing productivity and assisting those in many areas of life to feel less alone and more understood.
It says that we matter, we have a voice, we have an impact and we are not alone.

Hi @AuntJobiska ,
I'm not sure if you understood the purpose of this thread, nor our services.
Whilst we cannot provide everything nor 'fix' everything, when we identify members who require additional support, we actually do have services to provide members with 1:1 support. Members are able to move through SANE's services (up and down) depending on their needs. There is no exit point with our model unless someone chooses to exit.
Whilst we appreciate your sentiment, we ask that you stay respectful on the forums and consider the needs of other members.
We sent you an email last night in regards to your posts. We encourage you to review our Community Guidelines and consider whether this space is something you'd like to continue utilising for peer-to-peer support.

It sounds interesting @tyme, although not sure how qualified I am by the first two dot points in the "About You" section. It states that the position is full time. Is this negotiable at all?
